At long last, I am finally posting the new blog mixtape! Consider this an early Christmas gift. Some of these bands I have yet to post about, some of these bands have already met my homepage. All in all, I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I did putting it together.
I’ve been playing guitar since I was seven years old. I’ve been playing an electric guitar since I was 12 years old. I still play today. One of the most fascinating things about an electric guitar is the range of sounds it makes when it’s out of tune. Traditionally, a guitar is played in tune. Songs have been written for thousands of years and for a small fraction of that time, which is still relatively large if you think about it, songs were written on guitars that were tuned a certain way. So, naturally, tuning is important; it provides the basis for creating sounds and arranging patterns of said sounds in ways that appeal to someone who is listening to them. (I don’t know of very many musicians that purposely arrange sounds in unappealing ways.)
However, I can’t explain how much of a kick I get out of striking my guitar’s strings when it’s horrifically out of tune. I’m not talking about them being so loose that they don’t vibrate fast enough to make sound, but just tight enough to resonate in the filthiest way possible. It always makes a noise that sounds vaguely but not entirely unlike “Twang”. I love that sound. The only sound I love more is when I put my guitar through a delay pedal that I bought off of a friend during the summer. “Twang” becomes “Twang-g-g”. “Twang-g-g”: the most beautiful sound on earth.

I’ve been busy gathering materials for my Morrissey costume, so I wasn’t able to post this up on time. However, it remains my contribution for Halloween Blog Mixes.
This Halloween weekend has probably been the best of my life. You can still kick it to this even if it isn’t Halloween, but it was originally meant for this weekend. It has something for everyone, with a touch of me. So, I’m touching you. Yeah. Check it out and give it to your friends.

After long hours of labor I have finally completed the Halloween playlist! Yaaaaaay.
However, there’s a trick to it. I’ve gone past the standard playlist format and created a sort of listening experience, if you will. This experience can and should be played at Halloween parties and will guarantee fun all around. I am not going to post a list of what will be playing as a means of abusing the element of surprise. However, I will throw you this little bone: all of the non-song bits of the playli–ahem, listening experience–are from a classic film.
Instead of telling you which movie it is, I’m going to give you a shitty anagram of the title. If you figure it out, great! If you don’t, you’ll probably figure it out after the first clip anyway.
However, if you do figure it out, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org immediately.
The first five people to e-mail me the correct film title will win a download link to the complete tracklist and high-res artwork. Of course, they also get bragging rights.
So, in the words of my hero, Cash Cab’s Ben Bailey, “Whaddya say, do you wanna play?!”
Laddd 2: Dive Bead Yawned
Contest is over once five people have answered correctly. The Photon God does not discriminate by race, color, ethnicity, sex, nor plane of existence. All are welcome to enter, living or dead. :D
I will announce via Twitter when the fifth correct answer has been sent in so follow me if you wish to be kept up to speed. Now,
I wont’ be posting too much today seeing as I will be on the road to Austin as soon as I get out of class.
Busy, busy, busy.
However, I will not leave you empty-handed.
I’ve made a playlist specifically for the Winter weather.
It’s just hit us here where I live and it’s fucking magical.
The Photon God: Winter Playlist
Here’s a screencap of the tracklist. No time to type it. I’ve a psychology test to study for.
Austinites, I shall see you soon. Be sure to go to the Mohawk tonight to catch The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Cymbals Eat Guitars, & The Depreciation Guild!
See you there!
YAY. This is the 100th post on the blog.
I don’t really know what kind of thing you do for 100th-iversary. I’m broke so I can’t throw a party. Hm.
I’ve got it! How about a compilation of my favorite tracks from past posts?
What do you think, Sigmund Freud?

I’ve made many attempts at romance. This is one of them.
Like the others, it failed; timing wasn’t right, etc.
The Perseids Meteor Shower occurred a couple of weeks ago. It lasted three days. It was viewable all over the US.
I thought that would make a pretty romantic night. Even more so if there was a playlist to it. So I made one.
Never got to listen to it though. I couldn’t dare press play at midnight alone. And now the Perseids have passed. For those of you who got to see at least one meteor fly across your sky, I’m happy for you. This playlist is for you, the star gazers, the sky watchers; those with their eyes towards the cosmos.
If you have a special someone, take them out to a field with a blanket and just relax through dusk. Look up at the sky, and let this wonderful mix take you through the skies.

Okay, this time around, the term mixtape is accurate because this mix actually was on a tape.
Originally to enter the hands of a friend last night, mishap upon mishap prevented it from doing so. It now resides somewhere on a Brownsville street.
I worked really hard on it. Who ever found it, you now have a piece of me with you. :) There’s also a torn page from my journal in there about said friend.
Anyway, since the tape is now (probably) lost forever, I’ve decided to post the mix here as the first official
