Press play.

I had a fun night last night, went home early, and went to bed late with my room window open. I woke up this morning to the drizzle outside pushing the cold air inside. There’s a strong hum being created by the far off sounds of the city’s commuters getting from point A to B. I really like this. I feel at ease with everything. I’m not stressing out about the beast of a semester that I’m going to begin in three days. I haven’t had a morning like this in a long time. I have also never had a morning like this at home. It’s always happened when I was out of town. I don’t know why, but when I’m home, I sleep in. But if I’m somewhere else, say, a friend’s apartment in Austin or Chicago, I’m up bright and early; ready to get myself a slice of the day. There’s this feeling of restlessness that I get; a tremendous rush of excitement for what I could possibly experience that day. That’s how I feel today. I’m excited. It’s raining outside right now, my window is still open, and my desk remains dry.
I’m still not sure if this is apropos, but The Beets released their second LP a few days ago. It’s called Stay Home. I can’t wait to hear it.
